Jesus taught that the greatest commandment was to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." (Mark 12:30).
The Christian faith was never meant to be a set of beliefs that was simply added to our lives. It is meant to be lived out with all that we are and have.
We can agree that it is important to live out our faith whole-heartedly. But this does usually require us to be intentional.
At certain times and and in certain places, embracing the Christian faith requires great devotion due to the potential persecution, suffering and rejection. But, in our time and place, we are very blessed with a strong Christian heritage and foundation. As a result, our faith is generally accepted or at least tolerated. Our faith can be a simple addition to our lives with as little impact as choosing to support a specific football club or getting a National Trust membership.
We agree to try, with God's help and regular prayer, to live our faith out with all that we are. We aim to be not only believers and accepters of what Jesus has done for us. We aim to be followers and disciples of Jesus.
